Unique Invitations by Deborah Burman Carasso Blog

Handmade vs. Professional Invitations

With the popularity of scrapbooking comes the do-it-yourself invitation.  But is it really a savings in either time or money?  The couple needs to know that it might NOT be their best choice to make their own invitations.  In addition to a possible less-than-favorable first impression for guests, there are expenses they may not realize.  The following is a list of things that need to be considered:

w Ink cartridges (extras may be needed at an average cost of approximately $25).

w Paper stock (this includes extra stock for setup, smudges that sometimes happen when the ink isn’t dry and redoing invitations that are too light when the ink cartridge runs low).

With Cutting fee (if the stock is the wrong size, there may be a cutting fee plus the possibility of an incorrect cut).

With envelopes (will they match the invitation stock or fit the invitation).

●        Fonts (if the font isn’t available on their computer, it will be necessary to buy one.

w Time (time is valuable in the months leading up to a wedding or special event).

A professionally printed invitation relieves the bride of all the worry and hassle of a homemade invitation.  The couple can choose from a wide range of invitations with the help of Deborah at Unique Invitations  If they still want their own personal touch, Unique Invitations offers a variety of options that will give the bride and groom an individualized invitation.  In most cases the invitation will be in their hands in a matter of days, ready to be addressed and sent to their guests.  Many printing companies will also provide you with already addressed envelopes ready to stuff and go!

Unless a couple has the organizational skills of an executive secretary, the time of an inmate and the patience of a saint, their best bet is to go with Unique Invitations, the professional, to create a memorable invitation for one of the most special events in their lives.

Just a suggestion…Unique Invitations by Deborah Burman Carasso has noticed that there are beautiful things to do yourself without the problems…  My suggestion is to pick a simpler, less expensive invitation and jazz it up.  In doing so, you have the professional printing done and save a lot of money and time and you do all of the beautiful work.  No mistakes done that way, no wear and tear on your printer, no printer jams, etc.  You can add beautiful bows/ribbons, jemstones, etc.  You can make it look much more expensive and elegant without the printing problems.
